While the violin has ancient origins, modern violins were crafted in 16th century Italy by master luthiers. Most fine violins crafted today are based on the same characteristics as those from early Italian masters.
Today, makers model their violins after renowned violins of Stradivari, Guarneri, Amati and others. Many of these violins sound as good or better than the originals.
Benning Violins offers an extensive collection of fine violins crafted by old masters like Testore, Balestrieri, Scarampella, Tononi and many more. Violins by modern masters like Carl Becker, Roger Hargrave and our own resident master violinmaker Eric Benning round out our collection.
All fine violins are fully-restored, in-stock and available for examination and trial.
