Description: “The back in two pieces of maple cut toward the slab with irregular flames of medium width running more or less horizontally; the sides, of later date, plain; the scroll with faint figure; the table in two pieces of spruce of medium grain; the varnish of a golden-brown colour. This viola is a good and characteristic example of the maker’s work. Reduced from its original dimensions it now measures 42.7cm in length of body, with widths of 20.0cm and 24.3cm.” This viola was originally 18 7/32” in length, with enormous widths as well. In 1957, its size was reduced to 16 3/4” by Dario D’attila, who was at the time Fernando Sacconi’s right hand man. The ribs of this viola are not original. String Length: 37.7cm,
