Description: Joseph Henry was born in Mirecourt, France in 1825 where he was trained and started in his career as a bow maker. After moving to Paris, he became an apprentice at the Dominique Peccatte workshop, where he slowly started to develop his own style of bow making. Around 1848, Henry decided to collaborate with Pierre Simon for a short time. Finally, in 1851, Henry decided to work independently and he began making his finest quality bows.
This particular bow is certified by Isaac Salchow. The round stick branded HENRY A PARIS is made of dark, red-brown pernambuco. The frog is ebony with silver mountings and inlaid pearl eyes. The button is ebony with two silver rings. The French frog and button are neither original nor made by Joseph Henry. Weight: 78.0 grams.
