Description: Sons of Francesco Carcassi and pupils of Giovanni Baptista Gabrielli, the two Carcassi brothers worked in Florence, Italy from 1735 to 1789. Known for their tedious attention to detail and excellent wood selection, the two brothers have joined the elite group of great Italian makers. This particular viola was made in the year 1777 and is an excellent example of the finest Italian workmanship. The smaller size of this viola makes this a fantastic viola to play for a smaller player.The sound is excellent for it’s size. Powerful and strong with a more treble tone.
