Description: Son of Joseph Arthur Vigneron, Andre Vigneron began his bow making career at a young age. After learning the craft from his father, Andre went on to work under Eugene Sartory in Paris before taking over his father’s craft all together.
This particular bow is round with a stick length of 72.7 cm. It is of a deep and dark orange-brown pernambuco which has random figurations and is of superior quality. The model of the head is typical of Vigneron’s work from this period. The frog is of ebony and silver and has a mother-of-pearl eye encircled by a silver ring in each side. The button is of silver on ebony and its collar has a second cut. At this time this bow is in excellent condition and is a fine example of Vigneron’s best work. Weight: 61.5 grams.
