Description: Johann Christoph Nürnberger was one of the first bowmakers of the Nürnberger family from Schönlind. Not much is known on where he learned to make bows, although we do know he worked in the reputable shop of J.B. Vuillaume in Paris from about 1860-1866. He then moved to Markneukirchen where he continued making fine bows as well as becoming a restaurant owner.
This particular bow has a round stick made of dark brown pernambuco and is 72.6 cm long. The frog is ebony with silver mountings and inlaid pearl eyes. The button is ebony with one silver ring and one silver cap. The frog and button are made in the Vuillaume style. Certified by Isaac Salchow.
