Description: Pierre Simon was born in 1808 in Mirecourt, France. He apprenticed and crafted bows in his home town until 1838, when he began working in the Dominique Peccatte firm. In 1840, Simon left Peccatte and began working in the Vuillaume workshop where he crafted many of the “picture” bows. Simon eventually acquired the Peccatte workshop in 1848 where he continued to make bows for Vuillaume and Grand frères. In the same year, Simon began working in collaboration with Joseph Henry until 1851 when they parted ways.
This particular bow has a round stick mounted with silver and ebony. It is currently in excellent condition. Weight: 58.5 grams. Certified by Jim Warren.
