Description: Although information on Colas’ early life is sparse, it appears he was born in Coincourt, France, and began his apprenticeship as a bow maker locally. In 1871, he moved to Paris, most likely to work for the J.B. Vuillaume firm. He began his own successful shop and employed several talented makers and the shop peaked near 1900.
This particular bow is in near mint condition. It is expertly balanced and produces a full, even tone across the strings. Certified by Jean-Francois Raffin. Weight: 60 grams.
