Description: Gennaro Luccia was born in 1911 in Casigliano, Italy. From his work in his home town and Mercato Cilento, Luccia became a prominent luthier of modern Italian age. In 1951, Gennaro immigrated to the United States to work along side his brother Vincenzo in Philadelphia. Before retiring retiring in 1978, Luccia worked a successful career in New York with Rembert Wurlitzer and also in Miami. Known for his precise craftsmanship and eye for detail, Luccia’s instruments are now played and collected world wide. This particular violin is in great condition and a fine example of Gennaro Luccia’s finest workmanship. Brilliant tonal qualities and the power to reach every intent ear in a soloist’s audience.
