Description: Born in 1890, Gutter trained as a maker with Oskar Zimmer in Markneukirchen from 1904 to 1907. He went on to work as an assistant to Eugen Gärtner in Stuttgart and then to Anton Siebenhuner in Zurich. He established himself independently in Markneukirchen in 1923. Gutter specialized in making copies of instruments by Italian masters. The violin itself is in excellent condition. Beautiful, warm sound, excellent craftsmanship and finished in a subtle red varnish. Back length: 35.6 cm.
