Description: Born in Hawaii in 1952, William Whedbee would go on to craft over seven hundred instruments. His combined interest in music and wood sculpture began while attending the University of Chicago. Inspired to continue his passion, Whedbee travelled to Cremona, Italy in 1976 to train at the Institute of Violin making. In 1979, Whedbee moved back to Chicago at the invitation of William Harris Lee and established his private workshop thereafter. This particular violin is a beautiful example of Whedbee’s talented hands. An elegant golden brown varnish and splendid playability make this an attractive violin. Excellent condition.
