Description: This beautiful cello has been attributed to the great French maker, Louis Guersan from the mid 1700’s. The cello is in well restored condition and sounds rich and colorful. The cello is slightly petite so it is extremely comfortable to play.

String Length: 67 cm. (26 3/8”)

Irene Sharp was a distinguished cellist and educator, holding positions at Mannes College of Music and UC Berkeley, with private studios across San Francisco, Palo Alto, and New York City. As Professor Emeritus at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, she enriched students globally, from London to Tokyo. As the Artistic Director of California Summer Music, she fostered young talent and has been recognized with an ASTA Outstanding Teacher award. Her contributions extend to master classes worldwide, including a notable collaboration with Margaret Rowell and a performance in Pablo Casals' master class.
