Description: Jacques Camurat was born in Madrid, Spain in 1927. He worked in Paris, France from 1957 to 1990. Trained with Dieudonné but went on to establish his own workshop at 49 Rue de Rome in 1957. He had two sone, Bernard and Pascal. Pascal went on to make fine bows.
This viola is an excellent example of J. Camurat’s work. The sound is powerful and bright with a colorful shape to the power. Great viola for someone who is a soloist or needs the power to be heard in a section.
