Description: Son of Emile Auguste Ouchard, Bernard Ouchard began crafting bows at the young age of 13. He moved to Paris with his father in 1941 where he incorporated the Hill-style underside into his making. After serving his country in WWII, Bernard joined the Vidoudez firm in Geneva, Switzerland, on the recommendation of Lapierre. In 1971, he left the firm and became a professor of bow making at the Ecole de lutherie in Mirecourt.
This stunning violin bow is in near mint condition with wonderful tortoiseshell and gold mountings. The bow was made by Bernard Ouchard while he was working for the firm of Vidoudez in Geneva, Switzerland. Weight: 62.5 grams. Octagonal stick.
