Description: From the young age of 14, Dominique Poirson began making bows under the guidance of Nicolas Maire. Shortly after, he worked for the J.B. Vuillaume shop until 1875, where he worked alongside many prestigious makers. After the Vuillaume shop closed, he worked for the Gand & Bernardel firm for a few years before establishing himself as an independent maker in 1879.
This particular bow branded “ H.C. SILVESTRE A PARIS” is in near mint condition. The round stick is silver and ebony mounted. Weight: 62.8 grams. Certified by Guillaume A Bruxelles.
