Description: Siegfried Finkel was born in 1927 into a family with a long history of bow making. His father in law, Paul Weidhaas, was known for his excellent French style bows. Siegfried moved from Germany to Switzerland in 1952 and opened his own atelier. Siegfried Finkel excelled in his craft and quickly became recognized as the best bow maker in his family.
This particular bow is a prime example of Finkel’s best work. The frog is ivory with gold and mother of pearl inlays. The lapping is made of whalebone and is original to the bow. Perfectly balanced and draws a beautiful, smooth tone across the strings. This bow is currently in excellent condition. Weight: 62.5 grams.
