Los Angeles-based violinist Alex Granger will perform a violin concerto in San Francisco written expressely for him by composer Lucas Floyd.
On Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 7:00 PM, come experience and enjoy the second-ever performance of Lucas Floyd's Violin Concerto, written expressly for violinist Alex Granger and premiered nearly one year ago! An accompanying string orchestra of 20 or more players will be led by conductor Eric Choate.
This performance is part of the Hot Air Music Festival. Now in its sixth year, the Hot Air Music Festival is a student-organized new music marathon that focuses on world premieres and collaborations by young composers and performers as well as music written in the past 50 years. Come early and warm up your ears with a lot of other great new music.
Alex will be performing the concerto on a violin crafted for him by renowned Los Angeles violinmaker Eric Benning.
