Distinguished Violin Maker Christopher Reuning to Offer Appraisals Certificates in Los Angeles

Appraisal and certificate services are offered by internationally-recognized expert during the Primrose Viola Competition.

Distinguished violin maker and restorer Christopher Reuning will be accepting appointments for appraisals and certificates at Benning Violins on June 14th and 15th.

Mr. Reuning, owner and President of Reuning & Son Violins - a world renowned violin shop based in Boston - will be in Los Angeles during the Primrose International Viola Competition.

Benning Violins - in collaboration with Mr. Reuning - is hosting a joint exhibit, “The Viola: An Exhibition of Sound, Form and Beauty”, at the Benning shop from June 12 through June 16.

The exhibit will bring together an extraordinary collection of fine violas crafted by old and modern Italian masters.

Appraisals

Mr. Reuning will offer appraisal services for instruments and bows that are submitted for his examination.

Certificates

Mr. Reuning will offer Certificates of Authenticity for instruments and bows that are submitted for his examination.

The cost (per item) for Certification is 4% of the appraised value (with a minimum cost of $750).

Mr. Reuning is an Internationally-recognized expert on fine stringed instruments. He founded Tarisio Auctions and Carriage House Violins and has served on the boards of the Violin Society of America and the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers.
