Distinguished violist Paul Coletti has acquired a viola crafted by Los Angeles violinmaker Eric Benning on behalf of The Colburn School.
Violist Paul Coletti, a faculty member at The Colburn School Conservatory of Music, has personally selected violinmaker Eric Benning's most recent-crafted viola. The viola will be added to the Colburn Schools collection of fine instruments for the use of their students.
The 16 1/4" viola was made on a Stradivarius pattern with a gorgeous one-piece, Bosnian maple back with a strong, pillowy flame. The ribs and scroll are of matching wood. This viola has a powerfully rich tone which penetrates beautifully.
Eric Benning would like to personally thank Mr. Coletti for his enthuiastic support and encouragement.
